Jon Trask and Elizabeth Glau get ready for WEC 2012 by stopping at a BBQ place and chatting about the upcoming conference in Saint Louis. They talk about their plans, attendee engagement before the show and some of the hits and misses they’ve observed as the show approaches in a few weeks.
Looking beyond WEC they ask some questions about MPI and it’s role in the meetings industry in the new economy and business environment that we all work in. Among the questions: “Is there a disconnect between International MPI and the local chapters?” “Does MPI service it’s members well and meet the needs of it’s evolving membership?” “What is the focus of MPI compared to PCMA, are they evolving in the right ways?”
We’d welcome input on these questions both here and on the podcast. We’ll be looking for folks both at WEC 12 in Saint Louis and remotely to comment back to us about MPI and it’s direction in the future.
Lastly, we discuss the Podcast Meetup Meetings Podcast WEC Meetup to be held in Saint Louis on July 30th.
If you’re nearby at WEC or just in Saint Louis that night, be sure and drop by and join us.
