Loud Coffee People and Cubes & Crayons

Today I spent some time in a Coffee house in Montclair district of Oakland, California. The place is called Nellys and the owner is really nice and I like to frequent it. The little downtown three clock area has 4 coffee shops- Starbucks, Peets, another one which I dislike, and Nellys.

As I sat and played in the shop with my new MacBookPro (I love it) This lady was sitting in front of me doing business on her cell phone. Talking really loud. You know you cant hear yourself talk on a cell phone like a regular wired phcoffee Loud Coffee People and Cubes & Crayonsone so some people tend to yell in their phones. (you know who you are) She was screaming away and oblivious to the rest of us. Usually when I make a call I step outside. So instead I twittered my anger and got some funny responses from the twitterverse. So my question is should I have throttled her? Should I has politely asked her to keep quiet? I put my headphones on and listened to music. I mean it isnt the library right?

Why am I writing this crap anyway? I am sure you don’t care. BUT I did run across this sight Cubes & Crayons which has a unique childcare working space.

Cubes-Crayons provides flexible office space with onsite childcare. Cubes-Crayons offers a unique combination of services to the self–employed or freelance worker with young children. Both office space and child development services are available during regular business hours on a full–time, part–time or drop–in basis.

Cubes-Crayons provides infrastructure and a sense of community. It is a haven for parents to exchange ideas, learn about new work opportunities and connect as parents. Clients can use the center for office space, and if they need to childcare, full time or take advantage of a schedule and flexibility tailored directly to their needs. All office and childcare space reflects our commitment to the environment and is designed to be eco–friendly.

So before I went to Nellys coffee shop and the screaming self important lady on her cell phone I dropped off my grandson Mayson at childcare. Maybe next time I should seek out a cubes & crayons with him. At least I enjoy his screaming until I can return him to his mom. icon smile Loud Coffee People and Cubes & Crayons
