As thousands lose their jobs, Citigroup splashes out with a right royal knees-up
Citigroup put itself on collision course with the U.S. government after throwing a sumptuous Christmas party for its top executives and guests in London this week.
At a time when it is axing 52,000 jobs, the stricken Wall Street firm splashed out an estimated £250,000 on the black-tie bash at Kensington Palace.
Guests were treated to champagne and canapes in the Palace, before settling down to a three course meal in the Orangery.
The £300-a-head dinner included asparagus and courgette flan, followed by rump of lamb and a panache of vegetables, all washed down with fine wines.
