One question I am asked by Meeting Planners about Meeting Podcast is “I don’t have an iPod how can I listen to it?” We explain in our First Time Visitors link the different ways to listen to our podcast. This little video is a great explanation of podcasting. If you don’t want to watch the video the answer to the question is “No, you don’t need one”

Meetings Podcast #5

We just loaded up another show on www.meetingspodcast.com. We talk about some issues and news in the meetings and events world. Please shoot over to the site and subscribe to the show or listen from the website.
Being creative doesn’t mean following the rules-
So I am a huge fan of a few podcasts because of this. Today as I drove into the WEB 2.0 conference I realized that I don’t listen to the radio anymore. Even one of my presets in my truck the station has gone country? When did that happen?
Here are a few of my favorite podcasts Marketing over Coffee, This Week in Media, This Week In Tech, among others. I think what brings me back is the creative aspect of these people and constancy they keep the content coming. Also I can time shift the content (meaning I can listen or watch when ever I want to, and where ever I want to)
Marketing over Coffee John Wall and Christopher Penn host a show which brings two very likable guys to my week, every week. I never thought of myself as a marketer but I have become one since starting Grass Shack. I really enjoy the tips I get from these two guys chatting in a little Dunkin Donuts in Boston. One thing Chris Penn constantly says is build your online reputation and dont let it slide. Chris is really an interesting innovator. I remember hearing on the Adam Currys (MTV big hair guy) Daily Source Code years ago calling in all the time with these interesting facts and ideas. I am very happy he started The Marketing Over Coffee podcast because his main podcast is a for a student loan network. Student loans give me a little sick feeling from my past.
Side note: So online reputation was just thrown out the window when I saw Fake Steve Jobs clever keynote at web 2.0. He has thrown all convention out the window and made a name for himself. Really a fun speaker. look for him online and check out marketing over coffee if you get a chance.
This Week In Media- Alex Lindsay of Pixel Corps leads this roundtable podcast about whats going on in media. I really love this podcast because Alex and his cronies are looking to the future and the convergence of all these types of media. He is on the forefront of web shows and making it work for everyone. The niche show I have started in on, has been percolating ever since I started listening to this show. Great info. Plus again it is consistent which is key. I love my weekly dose of TWIM. Sometimes they get pretty technical but Alex usually has a guest on that needs explaining to. So that helps the listeners.
This Week In Tech- Leo Laporte leads this roundtable podcast of tech news. It is really interesting to get the take of top tech people on the tech news. I learn a ton about whats going on in the tech world from this podcast. Leo is an old media guy who has always been in the tech world on radio, TV and the web. If you get a chance check it out try it. They are very consistent in bringing weekly shows for 3 years now. Amazing.
MeetingsPodcast- I have to post about our new podcast because I am really excited about it. It has Tom Hillmer of Creative Group Inc and Jon Trask of AVSU and myself as hosts. Both John and Tom are a wealth of knowledge and I am excited to push this type of tech to our industry. Check it out and please give me some feedback.
