This painting by Magritte is called “The Treachery of Images

The inscription is in French and it means ” This is not a Pipe”

Why? It is not a real pipe, it is a painting of a pipe. Correct? Well no. This is not a real pipe or a painting of a pipe this is a drawing of a painting of a pipe. Tricky huh? Well thats not all it is a printed copy of a drawing of a painting of a pipe.

The Painter Magritte himself commented: “The famous pipe. How people reproached me for it! And yet, could you stuff my pipe? No, it’s just a representation, is it not? So if I had written on my picture ‘This is a pipe,’ I’d have been lying!”

A great way of engaging your audience is with images and not bullet points. Grab their attention through an image that tells a story. Think how much more this plain pipe can get across an idea than a list of bullet points. Though it does have one bullet point to drive the message.

Have you seen an image used in a presentation that really grabbed you?

To be fair how about a set of bullet points that really grabbed you. icon smile Use Images Not Bullet Points for your Presentation!
