Today’s Podcast features a great friend of MeetingsPodcast Tony Stubblebine founder of CrowdVine.
CrowdVine is the smart and easy way to build a community around your event or conference.
Tony’s Blog
Some bullet points from the conversation!
–How Tony got in the events & meetings world!
– Where’s the yelp for event suppliers? This industry gets too much
information from sales people. Why are we protecting their jobs?
– Two thirds of every event is in major trouble. The content side of
events has the same pressure that all old-media has: new media. The
sponsor/exhibitor side of events has the same pressure that all
old-advertising has: online advertising. The remaining third,
networking, is still best done in person. Tony would bet his company on this.
– The explosion of social networking as a replacement for printed
attendee directories. Did you know that one of the co-founders of
LinkedIn just launched a CrowdVine competitor? Or that most of the web
platforms are incorporating social networking as a way to do online
attendee directories?
