Breakout Producer Hugs Are Important

breakout-producer-breakout-manager.jpg

I saw this post today on Digital Blue Global talking about how important a break out producer or in their case Breakout Manager is. It is such an important position that is sometimes overlooked or even eliminated for budget reasons to handle breakout production at events. I really loved this post because I myself have had to log a ton of miles being a breakout producer out of the glamorous world of the General Session. If I had received a hug once in a while this might have made those swollen footed days a tad better. In fact its a great reminder to me to hand out some to my own great producers more often.
I had a long discussion about a break out producer position with a client last week who had ask me to put an inexperienced production assistant in this role to save money. I strongly had to protest because this is a major role in meeting production and somebody with experience and savvy can make a huge difference in service for the presenters and audiences. (Also check out the DBG blog just for the Polar bear hugging the sled dog in this post! I hope it was just a hug!)
