What makes a Firefighter know when to leave a burning building? Experienced Firefighters know when to flee a burning building; it is not uncommon for them to to leave moments before the building comes crashing down. How do they know when to leave? A sixth sense? I was reading a book by Matt Crawford and he explained that firefighters get a tacit knowledge of there surroundings. Meaning with experience comes a knowledge that cant be articulated. This experience is not something that can be quantified but is the true knowledge of being a firefighter.
Ok, why am I writing this? This is a corporate meeting production blog. This passage really caught my eye because for one; I was a firefighter for several years, been in many burning buildings and know this indescribable feeling.
The correlation between using a meeting production company for your corporate meeting, or piecing it together yourself using the venues in-house options also came to my mind. Another analogy is bringing your car to the dealer to get it serviced. You never talk to the mechanics, you talk to the customer service representative, and he tells you what the mechanic found out. At a meetings venue we are the mechanics of your meeting. We are not a customer service representative. And fortunately we also know when to leave a burning building.
